Carl Gallela is a retired school administrator having spent 38 years as a professional educator in New Jersey. Carl earned an undergraduate degree from Belmont Abbey, a Master Degree from Glassboro College of New Jersey, and completed his doctoral work at Nova University, FL. With his wife, Barbara, he has two daughters and five grandchildren.

Katherine Rayment - AFAR Event Co-ordinator
Katherine is an experienced Senior Operations Manager who has led one of the largest criminal forensic laboratories in the UK. After relocating to the USA with her family in 2018, she has become a leading authority on specialist forensic laboratory design, equipment procurement, staff training, workflow optimization, and capacity building for law enforcement agencies worldwide.She holds a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Exeter and retains the lifetime title of Justice of the Peace, following ten years of service as a UK Magistrate. Katherine’s connection to AFAR began through her son, James, who has enthusiastically participated in several AFAR projects and conferences in Portugal, Belize, and Canada. Inspired by his passion for the organization’s mission, Katherine volunteered her expertise in project planning to support AFAR’s ongoing development.
